SeCore – Security Assessment Tool & Methodology

Background

SeCore is a security assessment methodology and platform that enables organizations to quantitatively evaluate and benchmark their security posture. Through data-driven insights, it supports informed decision-making and helps define effective mitigation strategies. Adberries team worked on the branding, user experience design, and development of the application. As part of the Adberries team, I led the end-to-end UX and UI design of the platform.

A key part of my role was to translate the client’s complex initial vision into a clear, intuitive digital experience. The process was highly collaborative, involving a series of workshops with SeCore to align on core goals, refine initial concepts, and structure the information architecture. Together, we crafted a streamlined web experience that clearly reflects SeCore’s business priorities.

Following the product launch, our collaboration with SeCore has continued, with a focus on iterative UX improvements and responsive updates to support evolving user needs.

Strategy & Research

Understanding the Subject
Security assurance is a complex domain that demands a deep understanding of technical workflows, compliance requirements, and user expectations. I had to research the online offerings and try several products to get better understanding of the processes and user expectations.

Competitor Research
We benchmarked leading tools in the market to evaluate functionality, user flow efficiency, and visual clarity. This informed several key design decisions and highlighted opportunities for SeCore to provide a more intuitive and role-specific experience.

Defining the Product Vision with Stakeholders
Initially, we received only a basic wireframe from the client, covering a very small of the intended functionality. Through a series of collaborative workshops, we co-developed the information architecture and defined the full scope of the project.

Card Sorting Exercise
This activity helped us streamline the information architecture and navigation structure to better align with stakeholder priorities and user expectations.

User Research
We conducted internal research with stakeholders and their colleagues, experts in security assurance. Their insights revealed opportunities to improve the product and guided us in defining the minimum viable feature set needed to start with the competitive product.

App Flow

By combining ideation, competitor analysis, and stakeholder interviews, we identified user behavior patterns that shaped the IA and UI design. This process revealed key workflows and role-based needs, allowing us to deliver a tailored solution aligned with SeCore’s goals.

App Design

We focused on clarity to deliver a seamless experience through the complex security assurance workflows, tailored to the needs of different user roles. The work was done in sprints by several batches, starting from the key security assessment functionality, to user roles and advanced reporting features.

Key Features

The feature set includes role-specific dashboards, customizable assessment templates, assessment tracking tools, and centralized reporting.

Public Website

We have also been working on the SeCore public website, which will serve as a starting point for SeCore clients.

What’s next?

We continue to work closely with the SeCore team to develop enhancements to the app, while they conduct testing and build out the database.
